Pierre-Marie Delpu is a former fellow of École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and professeur agrégé of history, teaching 19th century history at Université de Toulouse Jean-Jaurès. His PhD in process since 2012, which will be discussed in 2016 at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, deals with Southern Italian liberals in the revolutions of the early 19th century (until the Italian unification in 1860). His work explores the making of a new liberal political convention in the continental provinces of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, in place of the royal convention coming from the early modern age, paying attention to the processes of popular politicization, essentially in peripherical provinces such as Principato Citra (Salerno) or Calabria.

He has published several papers and contributions to conference proceedings in French or Italian books and reviews. Among his most relevant papers : « Les martyrs de la révolution.
